Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

CGT Property Valuations (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

When you order a valuation, register an account or contact us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details — name, email, phone number, company.
  • Property details — address, ownership records, supporting documents you upload.
  • Adviser details — accountant, financial planner or solicitor information you choose to provide.
  • Order and account history within our customer portal.
  • Technical data — IP address, device, browser, pages viewed, referrer (used to operate the site and improve it).

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Deliver and document the valuation service you have ordered.
  • Communicate with you about your order, account and reports.
  • Process payments and issue invoices and receipts.
  • Comply with our legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
  • Improve site performance, content and customer experience.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies (sign-in session, security) and analytics cookies (page views, conversion paths). You can decline analytics cookies via the banner shown on first visit. Declining will not prevent you from using the site.

Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as required to deliver the service or where the law requires:

  • Qualified valuers engaged on your specific matter.
  • Adviser(s) you nominate (e.g. your accountant or solicitor).
  • Payment processors and accounting providers.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers acting as data processors on our behalf.
  • Government, regulatory or legal authorities where required by law.

Subprocessors

We use the following service providers in the operation of our site and platform: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage), Vercel (hosting and CDN). Each is bound by their own contractual privacy and security obligations.

Storage & retention

Records are stored securely and retained for the period required to provide the service, comply with our professional obligations and the laws applicable to property valuation engagements (typically a minimum of seven years from completion). Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.

Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit, role-based permissions and audit logs on the customer portal. No system is 100% secure — please report any suspected security issue to us promptly.

Your rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time. Contact us via the contact page.

Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first so we can address it. If you remain unsatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
