Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
Engagement
By placing an order, you engage CGT Property Valuations to prepare a property valuation report on the terms set out here and in the order confirmation. The order confirmation prevails where there is any inconsistency.
Scope of report
Each report is prepared for the stated purpose, valuation date, addressee and instructing party set out at order. Reliance for any other purpose or by any other party requires our prior written consent.
No tax, legal or financial advice
Our reports state market value — they are not tax, legal or financial advice. The application of capital gains tax, transfer duty, GST or any other tax to your circumstances depends on factors outside the scope of the report. Always consult your registered tax agent, accountant, financial adviser or solicitor.
Customer obligations
You agree to provide accurate information, including:
- Property address, ownership and access details.
- Required valuation date(s) and the purpose of the valuation.
- Supporting documents reasonably requested to prepare the report.
We are entitled to rely on the information you provide. The report may be qualified if information is incomplete or unverifiable.
Fees & payment
Fees are quoted at the time of order. Standard reports are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed. Where invoiced terms apply, payment is due as stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to withhold release of a report until payment is received.
Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel an order before work has commenced for a full refund. Where work has already begun, we may charge a reasonable fee for work performed up to the point of cancellation. Once a final report has been delivered, fees are non-refundable.
Turnaround
Indicative turnaround times are estimates only and depend on access to property information, complexity and external data sources. We will keep you informed if turnaround is at risk.
Intellectual property
We retain copyright and intellectual property in our reports. You receive a non-transferable licence to use the report for the stated purpose. You must not alter, abridge or republish the report without our written consent.
Confidentiality
We treat customer information as confidential and handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability under or in connection with the services is limited as set out in our standard valuation report assumptions and qualifications. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Modifications
We may update these terms from time to time. Updates apply to orders placed after the update is published.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
